Finding A Home Support the Land Trust About the Land Trust

WAIT LIST

You must be an active applicant to be on the waiting list for a particular property.

Applicants are allowed to be on more than one waiting list at a time.

All applicants on our waiting lists should be ready to purchase and close on a home loan or must have been pre-qualified by one of our approved lenders and gone through all of our program's requirement checklists.

In the event that a buyer is unable to proceed with their loan closing, we will notify the next applicant on the waiting list.

Your place in these waiting lists expires once the home you chose is sold and therefore you must then select another property that meets your family’s needs and income.

Applicants on the waiting lists will be notified when their properties of choice have sold.

Applicants are responsible for notifying our Sales and Marketing Team of changes in their application information via email or phone. For information on upcoming seminars and orientations and homes available, all applicants are encouraged to visit our website regularly. Our newsletters and calendar of events is also posted in our website.

Restrictions
  • Households that don't meet the preferred household size or that fall under "student status" must wait 45 days from the date when the property was initially marketed. The restriction is lifted when the certificate of occupancy is obtained.
  • The first 10 days of the marketing process are reserved for existing Land Trust applicants. Applicants should notify the Marketing Team of their interest in a particular property immediately after they receive their notification of properties currently available.
  • Until a property is initially shown, applicants are prioritized on the waiting lists according to our Application Ranking System (ARS) which is designed to assess the need and capacity of our homebuyers.
  • Once the Marketing Team hosts the initial "open house", the list is locked down and all other applicants will be placed at the bottom of the list.
  • The applicant at the top of the list will have 48 hours to either:
1) Pass on the opportunity.
2) Establish contract to purchase and submit $1000 EMD.
3) Put the home under reservation for a maximum of one week to either pass on the opportunity or establish contract.
